We’ve just received the statistics from the 2015 holiday season’s Adopt-a-Military Family program and we’re so pleased to announce that the program was a HUGE success! First and foremost, we want to extend an immense thank you to Nei Dentler, a NEOPAT volunteer, for coordinating this program. With Nei’s support and hard work, 216 children were able to have a better holiday season! Here are the numbers, in comparison with the previous year’s stats: -We adopted 68 military families in 2014 and 90 in 2015! -55 sponsors adopted 79 families in 2015 and gift cards were donated to the remaining […]

Local Military Holiday Parties

canton

Every holiday season, we make it our mission to cover all costs of military holiday parties in the 20-county area in which we serve. When Gino and Lisa Zimmer lost their son, Specialist Nicholaus E. Zimmer, in May 2004, they wanted to find a way to keep their son’s memory alive, along with all other fallen heroes’. With the help of others, the Ohio Flags of Honor traveling memorial was born. It exists to honor all who have died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while fighting the War on Terrorism. […]

Wreath Laying at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery

4

We’d like to extend a large “thank you” to those who took the time out of their busy lives to honor those who have fallen for our freedoms. On Saturday, December 12th, 2015, NEOPAT, along with many volunteers, laid wreaths at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Gracious volunteers and their families laid 5,800 wreaths! 1,950 of these wreaths were grave-specific placements and in total, we placed 800 more wreaths than we did in 2014! The ceremony at the end was incredibly moving as well. This ceremony, which takes place at noon, is held simultaneously at all […]
